An Idyllic Riverside Gastropub in the Heart of Winchester
FOOD & WINE
Heath and Gina Dixon
have re-invigorated this beautiful landmark, creating an oasis in the heart of ancient Winchester (just 2 minutes walk from the City centre).
The Willow Tree offers smart, relaxed, happy environments that effortlessly adapt to suit any occasion.
The Willow welcome singles, couples, families, groups and aims to provide a wonderful experience at an affordable price.
The restaurant is fast becoming famous for delicious English cuisine and its speciality dishes that exude
South African influences to offer a "uniqueness of ingredients that come together to form the perfect plate" (Chef table available to sit amidst the action!).
Visit and enjoy traditional dishes or try new, exotic delights such as Ostrich, Pigeon, Pangasius (from Vietnam), Sea Bream. etc.
The Willow Tree is proud of its food and service and aims to provide seasonal produce wherever possible. The full â la carte menu,
light pub lunches, children's menu and specials board (regularly updated with new creations) available seven days a week – booking is advised.
The Willow bar offers an extensive range and comfortable environment for a drink at any time – as well as a separate area with a pool table.
The drinks list is comprehensive, comprising real ales, domestic and imported beers, wines imported from South Africa,
Chile, California, Australia and Spain plus a full range of soft drinks/mixers.
WILDLIFE SANCTUARY
Heath and Gina work with the Wildlife Trust on local projects and actively nurture the natural wildlife sanctuary surrounding them. The Willow Tree garden is embraced by sheltering trees and flanked by the river Itchen which plays host to otters, water voles, kingfishers and a friendly Heron. The clear water teems with fish including brown trout, rainbow trout, and grayling (fishing not allowed!).
ETHICALLY SOURCED, FREE RANGE & LOCAL
Ethically sourced fish, free range pork, Alresford watercress, home grown herbs, local fruit and veg.
HEALTHY CHOICES
Sardines, Nile Perch, Lemon Sole and other Fish Specials (when available), plus many others.
